Histopathological Findings of Oral Mucosa in Smokeless Tobacco Users: Case Report

چکیده

Background: New tobacco products, such as smokeless tobacco, are becoming more popular every year. In talking with our patients, we determined several reasons for that trend. The sale of these products is prohibited in many countries; hence, people obtain the product illegally. This important, since when stored under inappropriate conditions and temperatures, quality properties change, including their carcinogenic properties. Sometimes use a lot this or than one daily. It challenging dental practitioners to question patients about consumption visually detect oral mucosal changes, because usually do not have concerns they pay attention. Methods: two cases presented here, did any pain, nor notice lesions appeared. These used conventional cigarettes some time then switched due relocation Latvia. Soft tissue excision was performed sent histopathological examination. Results: findings were proliferation epithelial cells from buccal region, overgrowth, an excessive amount fibroblasts, cell destruction necrosis, large inflammatory cells, eosinophil leukocytes, plasma cells. Conclusion: We can conclude intraoral important risk factors possibly developing precancerous lesions. Such changes occur different forms Swedish snus betel leaves. Dental should always regularly check early detection.

Histopathological findings in the oral mucosa of celiac patients.

BACKGROUND Celiac disease (CD) is an immune-mediated enteropathy triggered by the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible subjects. Although the small intestinal mucosa is the main site of the gut's involvement in CD, other mucosal surfaces belonging to the gastrointestinal tract and the gut-associated lymphoid tissue are known to be affected. AIM Assuming that the oral mucosa could re...

Smokeless tobacco-exposed oral keratinocytes increase macromolecular efflux from the in situ oral mucosa.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether supernatants of cultured human oral keratinocytes (HOK) exposed to an aqueous extract of smokeless tobacco (STE) increase macromolecular efflux from the oral mucosa in vivo and, if so, whether bradykinin mediates in part this response. Subconfluent monolayers of HOK were incubated with STE or media, and supernatants were collected 24, 48, and 7...

The oral effects of smokeless tobacco.

Smokeless tobacco use has increased rapidly in North America. This form of tobacco use has many oral effects including leukoplakia, oral cancer, loss of periodontal support (recession), and staining of teeth and composite restorations. Systemic effects such as nicotine dependence, transient hypertension and cardiovascular disease may also result from smokeless tobacco use. This paper aims to gu...

Purified ACE attenuates smokeless tobacco-induced increase in macromolecular efflux from the oral mucosa.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether purified angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) attenuates smokeless tobacco extract (STE)-induced increase in macromolecular efflux from the in situ oral mucosa. By using intravital microscopy, we found that suffusion of an aqueous extract of smokeless tobacco elicited significant concentration-dependent leaky site formation and increase in cle...
